Extracurricular Activities

Activities such as music, athletics, and clubs will be provided in partnership with external organizations.

Musical Education

Gapla has a rich legacy of musical education. Many of our founders valued it deeply, and former president even performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam.

Student musical ensembles, including orchestras, bands, and choirs, will be offered in partnership with the Gaplan Music Foundation. Students will be placed in the appropriate ensemble through a competitive audition process.

The available ensembles are listed below.

  • Philharmonic Orchestra, for the most advanced string and wind students.
  • Symphonic Band, Symphonic Orchestra, and Advanced Choir for intermediate to advanced wind, string, and vocal students. The Advanced Choir will occasionally perform with the Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • Concert Band, Concert Strings, and Beginning Choir for beginning to intermediate wind, string, and vocal students.
  • Marching Band, performing at specialized school events.

Additionally, at the Royal Gaplastovian Academy and the Danubian University of Gaplastovia, private lessons will be available through the school. Students may also choose to form their own smaller, student-run ensembles.

Athletics

Athletics are essential for any educational environment. Through the guidance of experienced officials such as former Deputy President Connor Klinkosch, we will create a strong athletics program alongside our world-class academics.

While Gapla was founded by ambitious students, researchers, problem solvers, and musicians, it is impossible to deny the importance of athletics in an educational environment. Therefore, student athletics teams will be offered in partnership with the Office of Sports and Physical Fitness, Ministry of Human Capital.

Clubs

In Gapla, clubs will be more than just student groups or associations. From charitable work at hospitals, to groundbreaking scientific research to be presented at the international level, to preparing for essay competitions, clubs will be they will be integral parts of the student academic experience.

Clubs may be student-run and independent or may be sponsored by external organizations (and even the Government of Gapla)!
